“I can’t believe you went base jumping and didn’t invite me,” Jeff said, cramming popcorn in his face. Vic had strategically placed me between Jeff and herself, which was uncomfortable given what I knew about her feelings toward him. Isobel had a family event that kept her from attending the game, which might have made things a little less uncomfortable for me, but alas, there I was stuck between two friends who were probably perfect for one another but would never know it.
