The Hooded Figure

Halloween was fast approaching, and Noah lived for the holiday. When we were children, he always managed to acquire twice as much candy as Shay and me, even though we went to the same houses. He rode a sugar high for weeks, and it was Christmas before he finally ran out of candy. As we grew older, Noah made it his life’s mission to scare us half to death as often as possible. And that was why Shay screamed at the top of her lungs when she opened her textbook and found a rubber spider. The librarian, Miss Laferty, was not happy, but she was fond of us, so she let it slide.
