Chapter Seven

Waking up early wasn’t really an issue since I hardly slept anyway. My eyes were swollen and red, thanks to lack of sleep, but I couldn’t bring myself to care about what I’d look like at school. All I could think about was what I could do to make up for my mistake. It was surprising that in just over a week, Mattie had managed to wiggle her way into my life and take up residence permanently.
