I trusted Ginny’s mother more than I did my own, and it made me feel guilty. I told myself it was her fault, not mine, but I wasn’t sure that was entirely true. I never really gave my mother much of a chance to give me advice, and assumed her choice in husbands meant she was probably terrible at making good choices.
