Epilogue - The Next Generation

Our daughter’s sixteenth birthday came out of nowhere. Where had the time gone? It felt like only yesterday I turned fifteen and received the first note that brought her father and me together, but there she was with her father’s honey-gold eyes and my chestnut hair, a personality unlike anything we could have imagined. She was already brilliant and kind, outgoing and funny, and had quite the collection of friends. In fact, the whole group was a little familiar.
