December Mid-Month Update

Happy December!

We're already nearing the end of 2023, and looking forward to goals and growth and more great stories in 2024!

Here are the latest updates of what's posting this month in the PirateCat portal...

Still posting in weekly installments inside PirateCat:

  • Deceptively Beautiful (The Immortal Grimm Brothers' Guide to Sociopathic Princesses, Book 3) by M.J. Padgett

--This one will be wrapping up toward the end of December!

  • Fate Rising (a Leyward Stones serial that can be read as a sequel to the Macchiatos trilogy/Leyward Stones 1-3 OR as a standalone!)

--Still posting twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) every week! *Note: It will be taking a brief, one-week hiatus from posting the week of Christmas, but new episodes will resume posting on the regular schedule the following week!

What's Coming for the Future

We are so grateful to our loyal PirateCat subscribers and readers!

The reality is, this platform still has a very small membership base--and to be real with you, we aren't currently even making enough in monthly/annual subscriptions to cover the base costs of running this site.

HOWEVER, we have no plans of quitting! We knew going in that PirateCat would be a slow growth to build. But we would love to have more subscribers and readers!

We're looking forward to some opportunities for in-person marketing for PirateCat this upcoming year at a convention and possibly some other places if those work out, as well as continuing our social media presence and mentions on Crystal and MJ's social media, and PirateCat mentions in the backs of our published books to drive organic traffic from those who discover our writing in other places.

We're also slowly working toward offering more instructional content for YA writers inside our platform.

We plan to continue posting new episodes of Fate Rising weekly throughout the foreseeable future, along with adding in some new, ongoing books and series as we're able. As this site (and its membership) grows and costs are covered, that will open up the possibility of investing the time and expense to produce a lot more incoming content for this platform in the future!

We believe in PirateCat's mission to provide a platform for readers to find lots of clean, young adult fiction of various genres all in one place, and to build an engaged, interactive community around that fiction via our chat groups, commenting features, and more.

We would LOVE to see PirateCat grow to the point that it's self-sustaining. (I mean, a small profit would also be nice, but first things first--I need to get the site costs covered.)

Want to help? Here are some great ways to support what we're doing here at PirateCat:

  • Share about PirateCat with your friends and any readers who enjoy clean, young adult fiction. (Word of mouth is still our most powerful way of reaching new readers!)

  • Interact inside our PirateCat portal if you're already a member! Leave comments on stories. Comment in our Book Chat groups. Post questions for the authors in the Series groups or on the stories. Browse the Worldpedia forums and leave comments or ask questions. We want PirateCat to be interactive, and we'd love to have your discussion and engagement!

  • Purchase one or more of our GIFT memberships, and gift the experience of dozens of clean, YA stories to one of the YA readers in your life for a full year! (Thank you to those who have already purchased one! You rock!)

Thank you ALL for being here and for supporting our mission to make clean, young adult fiction more accessible to readers and to build a thriving community around quality YA stories.

Happy reading!
