I leaned against the cool stone and closed my eyes. Jordan was running late as usual, but it wasn’t entirely his fault. Mr. Jacoby kept him late most days since it was impossible to determine how long a job would take. I knew he would smell like fresh-cut grass when he arrived, but I didn’t mind.
