When I woke the next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find another text from Brody. However, his choice of a single red heart in response to my message gave me stomach flutters that lasted all morning, making it impossible to eat breakfast. I thought I was invisible to him as a prospective girlfriend, stuck fully in the best friend position for life, but there was a tiny ember of hope inside that started to grow just a little.
