HOURS PASSED, MAYBE DAYS. I opened my eyes to the same emerald I’d closed them to, only now they were angry. I opened my own eyes wider, taking in the sunlight shining through the parted curtains. I sat up in the bed only to realize I was not in my cabin. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and yawned.
