Chapter Nineteen

I was grinning like an idiot at the breakfast table, still lost in memories of an amazing night snuggling and watching old films with Mattie. If that was all we did every night from then until forever, I would be a happy guy. She wandered around the kitchen in search of cocoa powder to make chocolate waffles. Her pajamas were adorable—bright pink with zebra stripes and probably a size too big for her. Her hair was a mess piled on top of her head, and I discovered that she wore glasses. Usually, she wore contacts, but I’d never seen her just after waking up, so I had no idea. She chewed on her bottom lip as she moved things around in the cabinet.
