I didn’t know when Foster woke up, but he was already gone by the time the sun woke me. It shone brightly through the curtain and warmed my face, providing a comfortable and peaceful awakening. I rolled over and stretched out my sore muscles, still tired both mentally and physically. The conversation with Foster was unexpected, but for the first time in as long as I could remember, I woke up happy, content, and at peace.
