I gazed into his eyes and noticed just how much could be read in the tones of green and gold—appreciation, trust, hope, amazement, joy, fear, and hiding just behind the beautiful golden tones that faded into the green—love. It was more than I’d ever read in Ronin’s eyes, more than I’d read in anyone’s for that matter, and it scared the snot out of me.
