Chapter Eleven: The Greatest Adventure (Part B)

I know it seems weird, but I had a very clear image in my mind. You see, I knew now—really for sure knew—that my time at this job was limited. I had felt before that this job couldn't last forever, and that was part of what drove me to cherish every day I had there. But now that I was pregnant, a peace had settled over me. I knew that once the baby came, I wouldn't be coming back to this job. At least not in the same way. And so I had this image in my mind, the one perfect picture I wanted to capture to remember not only my time there but also the beautiful transition that was happening as one part of my life gave way for something new. And that image was a picture of a macaw sitting on my round belly.
